JACR Blog 2.0: Open for Business
It's a new year and JACR raises the social media bar again, with an open call for blog post submissions.
Have you read the January 2018 special issue of JACR? It's all about social media and medicine, such as articles on the importance of social media for medical journals and, increasingly, for academic promotion. Everyone recognizes the ubiquity of social media, but many may see the content that appears in scholarly journals as having more gravitas, and thus dismiss social media, even those associated with highly-regarded journals, as not a worthy venue for sharing their work. That's about to change.
Not long ago, JACR switched its manuscript submission and editorial management software platform. Whether you've used it to submit a manuscript or to perform peer review or have never seen it all, please click here. Once you log in, take a quick peek at the homepage for JACR. Notice anything?
If not, here's a screen capture with the answer:
Your eyes do not deceive you. You can find blogpost author instructions right beneath those for JACR. Why? Because just like manuscript submission for JACR, you can submit your original content for the blog here too. Just read the blog-specific instructions and pick the correct article type. You can also access the author guidelines directly on the blog's homepage:
Note that the blog guidelines are somewhat different than for submissions to the journal itself. For example, one goal of the JACR blog is to increase engagement with the journal. Your blogpost should feature or have a connection to something you've seen in JACR. We will also consider blogposts related to other ACR Press content, such as the ACR Bulletin, or other ACR resources and features, like ACR Appropriateness Criteria. Like the journal, your submitted content will be reviewed and either accepted, rejected, or sent back to you with suggestions for revisions.
An award-winning leader in scholarly journal digital content innovation, JACR now gives you more options for having your unique voice heard, for sharing your work, and for engaging with more readers. Thanks for reading the JACR blog. From everyone at JACR, we look forward to seeing many new posts from a wide range of authors. Start building your social media portfolio with us today.
